About Us

The Miss Camilla/Presidential Pathways Scholarship Pageant Program, in cooperation with the Miss Georgia Organization and the Miss America Organization, has established the following mission statement:

    To provide unique opportunities for the young women of Southwest Georgia to win financial assistance in the nature of scholarship awards as a means of achieving their educational goals, and to create and maintain a system of competition which will enable the pursuit of educational excellence, enhance career opportunties, and produce role models representing positive, wholesome American values;

    To extend the scholarship benefits to young women who choose to compete for the job of Miss Georgia by providing scholarships to colleges and universities;

    To utilize the Miss Camilla Scholarship Pageant Program to promote generally those issues of concern to the American woman, and to encourage the role of women in all aspects of our society;

    To recognize women who have made outstanding contributions in all fields of endeavor and specifically ot women's issues, and;

    To encourage the spirit of volunteerism throughout the Miss Georgia Pageant network of local and state pageants and to promote good will and civic and economic benefits in the towns and cities which host the competitions leading to the job of Miss Georgia.

The Miss Camilla Scholarship Pageant Program is part of the Miss Georgia and Miss America Organizations, which are non-profit corporations. The first Miss America Pageant was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1921. In 1945, the scholarship foundation was established.  Today, more than $40,000,000 in scholarship assistance is available annually to young women who participate in the Miss America Program.
